Industrial Survey UAV CAD Design
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a complete CAD package for a multicopter built for surveying and mapping inside large-scale industrial sites—think refineries, steel mills, and busy yards where bumps, dust and an occasional chemical splash are part of daily life. The airframe has to be robust rather than feather-light, with every structural node, arm and landing element specified in high-durability materials that can be sourced without exotic lead times.
You will start from a clean sheet (no existing STL or STEP files) and develop a manufacturable 3D model, including realistic component cavities for flight controller, batteries, telemetry modules and gimballed sensor payloads. I’m comfortable with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or CATIA, so use whichever will let me edit the design later without conversion headaches.
Key design notes
• Primary mission: sub-centimetre photogrammetry and LiDAR mapping
• Typical flight time target: 25 min with a 1.5 kg payload
• Industrial environment: tight spaces, metallic clutter, intermittent magnetic interference
• Priority: structural strength and fatigue life over ultra-light weight
Please deliver:
• Native CAD files plus neutral STEP/IGES export
• 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances, fastener call-outs and exploded views
• A concise bill of materials listing grade/specification for every structural part
• Simple FEA snapshot or hand-calc summary proving the arms and motor mounts survive a 5 g impulse
I’ll assemble a prototype the moment the files arrive, so clarity and build-readiness are more valuable to me than rendering polish. If this sounds like the kind of engineering challenge you enjoy, I’m ready to get started right away.
