High-Poly 1960s Tricorder Model Rebuild

Job ID: 40363385

Budget: $100 – $150 USD

Project Title: High-Poly Sci-Fi Prop Rebuild (Geometry & Rigging Only)
Project Overview:
I need an experienced hard-surface 3D modeler to rebuild a legacy low-poly prop (a 1960s-style Tricorder) into a cinematic "Hero" asset suitable for 4K macro close-ups in Daz Studio Iray. This contract is for Geometry, Rigging, and UVs ONLY. No texturing is required.

Technical Requirements:

Topology: 100% Quad-based topology. No triangles or N-gons.

Poly Count: Target density of 80,000 to 90,000 polygons.

Edge Work: All 90-degree corners must have physical bevels to catch specular light.

UV Unwrapping: Must be fully and cleanly unwrapped with zero stretching.

Material Zones: You must retain and assign geometry to these 9 specific surface names: Aluminum, Grillwork, Light1, Light2, Light3, Plastic, Screen, SilveryMetal, and TricorderBody_auv.

Mechanical & Rigging Requirements:

Top Hood: Must maintain the sliding track logic from the provided blueprint.

Lower Door: Must be detached and rigged to pivot open downward on a bottom hinge.

Data Discs: Internal cylinders must be perfectly smooth (minimum 64-sided geometry).

Screen Assembly: The screen must be physically recessed with a static clear glass plane on the outside and a separate, opaque circular disc placed 1mm behind it, rigged to rotate on its own Z-axis.

Deliverables:

Native source file (e.g., .blend, .mb, or .max).

Exported .fbx with hierarchy and pivot points intact.

Milestones:

25% Milestone: Wireframe View approval (to verify quad-only topology and edge bevels).

75% Milestone: Final UV-unwrapped model and all source files.

To Apply:
Please provide examples of your hard-surface work showing Wireframe Views. If you understand this is a geometry-only project, please start your proposal with the word "Blueprint."
