Fusion 360 Linear Mechanism Redesign

Job ID: 40028170

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

I have an existing 3-D model that needs to be rebuilt in Fusion 360 so the internal movement shifts from decorative to fully functional linear motion. The goal is a clean, manufacturable file set suitable for a final product, not just a prototype or render.

Here is what I need from you:
• Recreate or re-parametrize the current geometry in Fusion 360, keeping overall dimensions unchanged.
• Integrate a simple, reliable linear mechanism—think sliding, telescoping, or rack-style movement—so the part can be produced in both plastic and styrofoam without post-processing tweaks.
• Supply native . f3d along with exported STEP and STL for hand-off to my machining and foam-cutting vendors.

Acceptance criteria:
• Smooth, bind-free travel across the full stroke length in the Fusion joint simulation.
• All parts organized in bodies/components with clear naming.
• No unresolved sketches, broken constraints, or missing appearances when I open the file.

I will share the original file and any critical dimensions as soon as we start. If you are comfortable with Fusion 360’s motion study tools and have delivered working linear mechanisms before, this should be a straightforward engagement.
