Functionality is the top priority: every decision, from seam placement to hardware selection, must support a smooth switch between carry mode and shelter mode without fuss.

The tent component has to be genuinely easy to set up. Think intuitive folding sequences, minimal poles or clips, and fast transitions even in low-light or windy conditions. I’m leaning toward a rugged canvas shell, so please keep weight management, weather resistance and packability in mind while working with this fabric. If you know clever ways to reinforce stress points or integrate lighter sub-materials without compromising the classic canvas feel, flag them.
