Engineer Next-Level, Efficient Product Design
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
Objective:
Take an existing concept and 3D drawings and transform it into a fully engineered, manufacturable product with structural integrity, ease of assembly, and shipping efficiency in mind.
Key Responsibilities:
• Structural Engineering & Material Selection:
• Evaluate forces and loads (help pick appropriate materials).
• Recommend material thicknesses, finishes (galvanized steel, anodized aluminum, etc.), fasteners, etc.
• Design Refinement:
• Refine how components fit together (bracketry, hinges, interlocks).
• Suggest improvements for durability, ease of use, weight reduction.
• DFM (Design for Manufacturing):
• Simplify parts for easier cutting, welding, machining, or injection molding.
• Optimize design for reduced cost in production.
• Shipping/Packaging Considerations:
• Modify design for flat-packing or space-efficient shipping.
• Provide exploded views/assembly steps if possible.
• Final Deliverables:
• Full CAD package in native and neutral formats (STEP, STL).
• 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances.
• BOM (Bill of Materials) with suggested materials.
• Exploded view diagrams.
• (Optional Bonus) Basic assembly instruction draft or guide
