Engineer House Plans for Permit
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have already laid out a full 3-D model of my future home in SketchUp, but I now need a Nevada-licensed engineer to take it the rest of the way so it clears Lyon County’s permitting desk without a hiccup. The model shows room layouts, basic dimensions, roof shape and openings; what’s still missing are the signed, code-compliant sheets a reviewer expects to see:
• A stamped foundation plan sized for local soil and seismic conditions
• Floor framing details (joists or an engineered truss schedule)
• Roof truss design and accompanying calculations
• Complete electrical and plumbing plans tied to the floor layout
• Any additional notes, schedules or details the county typically requests (energy calcs, hold-down specs, etc.)
I can send you the .skp file immediately so you can review geometry and pull dimensions straight from the model. All final drawings must come back to me both as updated SketchUp layers/groups and as clean PDF plan sets ready for upload to the county portal.
I already have Lyon County’s residential guideline packet, but no preliminary approvals. I’m counting on you to interpret those requirements, flag anything my concept is missing, and deliver signed sheets that will satisfy the plan checker on the first submittal.
