Elephant Water Filter 3D Refinement
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I already have a first-pass STEP file of a small elephant that slips over a home water-filter cartridge so silicone can be poured to create a playful, food-safe sleeve. The concept works, but three things still need attention: the overall shape and proportions feel a bit off, the surface lacks charming detail (skin folds, ears, trunk tip), and the fit onto the filter body isn’t as secure or flattering as it must be for molding.
I will send you the current STEP as a starting point. Your job is to clean up the geometry, sharpen or add light texturing where it enhances playfulness and sophistication, and fine-tune the attachment lip so it locks cleanly around the cartridge without undercuts that would trap silicone.
Alongside that polish pass, I’d like a second variant: the elephant remains standing, but the water should now enter and exit through another opening so it doesn't feel like its coming out of bottom or stomach. Feel free to rethink the internal ducts so flow is smooth and the mold parting line stays simple. If inspiration strikes for a sitting or lying pose I’m happy to look at quick sketches, yet the deliverable I need is the standing version and sitting version with the base in-/outlets.
Please return:
• Refined original STEP ready for tooling
• New standing-pose STEP with base-port routing
• A quick screenshot or PDF showing any critical dimensions or seal areas so I can verify fit before sign-off
SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar mainstream CAD is fine as long as the exported .step opens cleanly. Accuracy on the filter interface is the success metric; the elephant’s personality comes a close second!
I will add in visual inspo docs, too but top line we need the ears more pinned back, indents for the eye not black marks, the trunk needs to face down, little mouth, think VITRA the brand. Thanks
