Design Manual Machining Clamps
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
A complete manual clamping solution is required for holding metal workpieces during milling and drilling. The job starts with a loose concept and ends with shop-ready documentation.
Scope
• Translate the idea into a practical clamp set sized for a 150 mm × 300 mm T-slot table.
• Ensure it grips mild and stainless steel securely without surface damage, with at least 5 kN total holding force.
• Optimise for fast set-up and repeatable positioning.
Deliverables
1. 3D models (STEP or SolidWorks) of every clamp component.
2. Fully dimensioned 2D drawings in PDF.
3. Bill of materials with standard hardware call-outs.
4. Brief calculation sheet or FEA snapshot showing how clamping force and deflection were validated.
5. Simple assembly/usage guide for the shop floor.
Preferred knowledge areas include fixture design, machinist hardware (strap clamps, step blocks, studs, nuts), and basic stress analysis. Two-week turnaround from project start is ideal; interim check-ins are welcome to confirm fit and function.
