3D & 2D Design for Custom Spiral Auger Bending Machine

Job Description:

We are an agricultural machinery manufacturing company looking to **design and build a custom machine to bend sheet metal into spiral auger blades**. This machine will be used to produce auger flights from MS plates (usually 8–14 mm thick). We are seeking an experienced **mechanical design engineer/freelancer** who can help us **convert our machine concept into a complete working design**, including all technical documents needed for fabrication.

Scope of Work:

1. **Concept to Design:**

* Discuss the functional requirements of the spiral bending machine.
* Evaluate possible mechanical systems to form spiral sections from flat sheet.
* Provide technical input based on metal forming principles.

2. **Design Deliverables:**

* Full **3D CAD model** of the spiral auger bending machine.
* **2D manufacturing drawings** for all components and assemblies.
* BOM (Bill of Materials) with materials, grades, and quantities.
* **Assembly instructions** and motion explanation (video/simulation preferred).
* **Suggested hydraulic or mechanical actuation system**, with specs.

3. **Manufacturing Guidance:**

* Details of each part for machining, laser/plasma cutting, fabrication, and welding.
* Advice on material selection for rollers, frame, and wear parts.
* Calculations for forces, bending moment, and stroke capacity if applicable.

4. **Optional:**

* Assistance during prototype building or consultation with our in-house fabrication team.
* Exploded views or visuals for fabricators to understand process.

Required Skills:

* Strong mechanical engineering background
* Proficiency in **CAD software** like SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, or Fusion 360
* Experience designing **sheet metal forming/bending machines** or similar equipment
* Knowledge of **hydraulics/mechanical transmission**
* BOM preparation and technical drawing standards
* Ability to communicate clearly in English or Hindi
