Custom Inflatable 3D Pattern Modeling

I have a steady flow of projects that turn everyday objects into large-scale inflatables for events and promotions. The objects range from animals to vehicles, bottles, tools and more, and I’ll provide front, side and perspective photos in JPEG/PNG for every piece.

What I need from you is a clean, production-ready pipeline: first, create a watertight 3D model that truly captures the reference proportions; then unfold the surface into flat cutting patterns that my factory can send straight to their CNC fabric cutters. Seam allowances, registration marks and part numbering must already be built in so the shop can stitch without extra edits.

Typical deliverables per object
• Native 3D file (Rhino, Blender, 3ds Max, SolidWorks or similar) plus a universal format such as OBJ or STL
• Flattened 2D patterns in DXF or PDF with all panels labeled and grain direction noted
• Quick assembly sheet or screenshot set showing panel layout and overall dimensions

Models must be smooth—not overly faceted—so that we avoid visible creases once the item is inflated, and volumes have to remain consistent after the pattern conversion. If you already rely on tools like Rhino’s UnrollSrf, Pepakura, Grasshopper scripts or similar, that’s perfect; just keep your workflow non-destructive so revisions are easy.

Please attach a short portfolio piece that shows both a 3D render and the matching flat pattern. Once we finish the first object successfully, there will be plenty more in the queue.
