We need a product/electronics-mechanical designer to develop a simple passive extension adapter for a removable code/calibration chip used in a handheld diagnostic device.
The device currently requires the chip to be inserted directly into a small slot. We want to create a male-to-female extension so that one end remains inserted in the device and the original chip can be inserted at the other end of a short cable.
We already have a 3D STEP model/mapping of the chip geometry, which will be shared after project allocation.
The project includes:
Male insert design
Female chip receiver design
Short cable connection
Simple PCB/contact design
3D-printable housing design
Prototype fabrication
Testing with the device
Complete design-file and knowledge transfer
Important: this project does not involve firmware changes, chip cloning, chip emulation, decoding, calibration modification, or opening/modifying the device. It is only a physical extension adapter.
The design should be easy to manufacture in India using commonly available PCB vendors, cables, connectors, and 3D printing. Housing should be friendly for in-house FDM 3D printing.
Experience with small PCB adapters, contact interfaces, custom connector design, 3D-printable enclosures, and prototype-to-small-batch manufacturing will be preferred.
