Contract 3D Modeler & Product Designer (DFM) for Innovative Fitness Equipment

I am seeking a creative 3D Modeler and Product Designer (design for manufacturing) with a strong focus on visual appeal and user-centered design for a short-term contract role. You will be refining and developing a sleek, simple, and universally adaptable design for a new fitness-related product involving a harness and belt (similar to existing back-braces on the market) but with key functional differences. While a foundational understanding of mechanical engineering and resistance band exercises is beneficial, in-depth knowledge in exercise science is not mandatory, as I can provide the necessary insights.

**Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with me to comprehend the product’s functionality and design requirements.
- I already have detailed drawings and videos demonstrating a rough prototype I've created.
- Develop aesthetically appealing, high-quality 3D models with a focus on user-friendliness, simplicity, and “brandability”
- Propose adjustable mechanisms to adjust harness size, resistance level, and belt length to ensure the product accommodates various user sizes and strength levels.
- Suggest materials balancing durability, comfort, and cost-effectiveness.
- Recommend design enhancements that aid in ease of use.
- Refine designs based on feedback through collaborative iterations.
- Ability to deliver a finalized design in a manufacturable format, including detailed specifications and assembly instructions, to ensure seamless transition from design to production.
- Maintain regular communication and updates.

**Skills & Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a 3D Modeler and Product Designer, showcasing a portfolio of aesthetically appealing and user-friendly designs (especially any relating to fitness or similar products such as physical therapy devices, harnesses, or backpacks.)
- Basic understanding of anatomy and exercise is advantageous.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
