Cartoon Character Animation for Education
Budget: €750 – €1,500 EUR
Hi,
We’re a team from the Czech Republic developing a creative educational platform designed for preschool children. The main character and guide throughout the app’s activities is our 2D mascot – a teddy bear we now want to bring into 3D: friendly, expressive, and designed to engage young kids through interactive content.
We currently have an early-stage 3D model (created in Blender) from a previous studio. Unfortunately, despite promises of a finalized look, the result was an unfinished version that doesn’t align visually with the original concept we agreed upon. That’s why we’re now looking for a skilled 3D artist to help bring our bear to life, as it was truly intended.
The task mainly involves aesthetic and proportion-based refinements to the existing stylized model. The base mesh and sculpt are done, and we don’t anticipate major structural changes to the skeleton, possibly only minor adjustments around the paws. Most of the work will focus on improving the overall shape, proportions, and facial structure, as well as preparing the model for animation (UVs, texturing, and a simple rig if needed).
We’d also like to adjust the fur: its texture and tone (warm brown) should better match the original 2D design, and the bear’s surface should feel a bit more natural and fuzzy, less sleek and plastic-like. Slightly messier hair/fur detailing would help emphasize his warm and cuddly personality.
We’ll provide the current Blender file, original concept references, and visual feedback, and we’re happy to walk you through the details via a short call or screen-share session.
Here’s a quick overview of what we’re looking for:
- Finalizing and refining an existing Blender model (mainly aesthetic improvements)
- Adjusting proportions and expressions to match a child-friendly look
- Improving stylization and model clarity for animation use
- Fur detailing (messier and softer look, more natural texture, warm brown color)
- Optional: texture cleanup, minor rig updates, or pose setup
In the second phase, we’ll also need to create a slightly different version of the bear (e.g., with branded accessories or outfit elements), so if we’re a good match, there’s potential for follow-up work as well.
We’re wondering if your studio takes on projects like this – focused primarily on refining and finalizing an existing 3D character model for preschool content.
If so, I’d be happy to share the current version we received from the previous studio, along with visual references of our intended final look.
Thank you so much for your time.
Best regards,
Michaela Adamkova
