KUFU Drawer Systems is a fast-growing manufacturer of vehicle storage solutions, with our universal platform already in use across multiple industries including emergency services and commercial fleets. As we expand our product line, we’re seeking a highly experienced Automotive CAD Designer to develop vehicle-specific fit kits for 4WD wagons and utility vehicles.

Scope of Work:
You’ll be responsible for designing complete installation kits tailored to specific vehicle makes and models. Each project will include:

Mounting Fit Kit: Brackets, bolts, washers, spacers, and associated components

Side Wing Kit: Side infill panels (Hexa Ply parts only – brackets are universal)

Installation Manual: Clear and concise fitting instructions with visuals - Template provided

These kits will adapt our proven universal drawer platform to a range of vehicle interiors.

Project Requirements:
Secure & Durable Designs: All components must meet our standards for strength and longevity in demanding environments.

Ease of Installation: Designs should allow for straightforward install and removal by technicians or DIY users.

Vehicle Compatibility: Work must accommodate model-specific tolerances and interior structures.

Production Ready: Final designs must be suitable for CNC, laser, and traditional fabrication methods.

Required Experience:
5+ years in automotive product design using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)

Proven track record of working with vehicle accessory design, especially aftermarket systems

Familiarity with common automotive fasteners, interior trim structures, and mounting methods

Ability to produce instructional documentation (or work with technical writers to deliver it)

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience designing fit kits for 4WDs, vans, utes, and SUVs

Understanding of Australian vehicle market and common fleet vehicles (e.g., LandCruiser, Ranger, Hilux, D-Max)

Skills in material selection for off-road and industrial use (e.g., composites, coated steels, plywood)

A methodical and proactive approach to design-for-manufacture (DFM) and product testing
