Wearable Nose Strip Product Design
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
The project centers on creating a consumer-friendly wearable: an adhesive nose strip that people can apply daily for comfort, clear breathing, and a sleek look. I already have the basic idea and target audience; what I need now is a complete product design journey—from early concept sketches to production-ready CAD files and photorealistic renders. If you have a background like human factors engineering, ergonomics, or biomedical engineering could be highly preferred.
Functionally, the strip must sit comfortably across the bridge of the nose, open the nasal passages, and remain in place during light activity or sleep. Because it will be visible on the face, aesthetics matter just as much as performance, so material finish, color options, and a subtle low-profile shape are crucial.
I will share reference images and sizing data once we start. You will explore adhesive technologies suitable for sensitive skin, propose hypoallergenic materials, and ensure the design allows easy peel-and-stick application without leaving residue. An understanding of human-factor ergonomics for various nose shapes is important.
Deliverables
• 2–3 initial concept directions with quick sketches and rationale
• Final 3D CAD model (STEP or SolidWorks native) ready for tooling
• High-resolution renders showing on-face fit and color variants
• Basic manufacturing notes: material call-outs, adhesive spec, and suggested packaging approach
Acceptance criteria: CAD passes DFM review for injection-molded or die-cut components; renders align with agreed visual style; materials listed are commercially available and skin-safe.
