Vacuum Extrusion Prototype Design
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I currently produce this item in the UK using recycled plast [stokbord] but want to redesign it lighter and cheaper. I have images and startin specifications of the product that will be produced via plastic vacuum extrusion. What I need now is a professional translation of those ideas into production-ready data.
Your task is to turn my approximate dimensions and notes into:
• A fully detailed 3D model (STEP/STP format) suitable for toolmakers
• Dimensioned technical drawings that clearly specify wall thicknesses, draft angles and any undercuts required for the extrusion process
I will supply scans of the sketches and a brief explaining functional requirements, target material and finish. You will refine the geometry, advise on manufacturability and iterate with me until everything is ready for the factory.
Acceptance criteria:
• STEP/STP file opens cleanly in SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar with no feature errors
• 2D drawings include front, side, section and exploded views where needed, with tolerances called out
• All critical measurements confirmed in writing before sign-off
If you have experience designing consumer products for vacuum forming/extrusion, I’d love to see examples. Let’s get this prototype locked down and off to production.
