VMC Fixture for Rectangular Parts

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I need a robust, repeatable fixture that can secure medium-sized rectangular metal workpieces—each falling somewhere between 100 mm × 100 mm and 500 mm × 500 mm—on a vertical machining centre. The design must tolerate typical VMC cutting forces, allow quick change-over, and leave all five sides of the part accessible so secondary ops are unnecessary.

A modular, mechanically actuated solution is preferred; standard toe-clamps, pull studs or zero-point pallets are all acceptable so long as tool clearance and chip evacuation are considered. Please model the complete assembly in mainstream CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar) and accompany it with manufacturing drawings ready for my in-house machine shop.

Deliverables:
• 3D CAD file of the fixture assembly with fully defined mates
• 2D fabrication drawings with material call-outs and tolerances
• Simple setup sheet describing clamping sequence and torque specs

The design will be reviewed on ease of loading, rigidity, and compatibility with a typical 300 mm VMC table slot layout.
