Upscaled 300 mm Aluminum Steam Turbine

Job ID: 40416454

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I have an existing 100 mm laboratory-scale steam turbine and now need a full set of engineering documents to recreate it at three times the size—bringing the runner diameter to 300 mm. The core geometry, blade count, and overall layout must remain faithful to the original; only the scale changes.

Material: all primary components—rotor, stator, nozzles, and casing—should be specified in aluminum, as that keeps weight and machining costs down for the indoor industrial environment where it will be mounted.

Precision: standard workshop tolerances are fine. The current prototype was machined to ±0.2 mm on critical interfaces, and I am comfortable maintaining that level here. No aerospace-grade fits are necessary, but please call out any areas where tighter tolerances would noticeably improve efficiency.

Scope of work
• BUILD a working 300mm diameter version of this working 100mm turbine

Acceptance
operate the 300mm diameter version with compressed air, then test with water at 5 bar pressure then steam at 5 bar pressure and measure the performance of the turbine by connecting to a generator and measuring watts produced
