Universal Reusable Can Lid CAD

Job ID: 40556072

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

I’m developing a reusable lid that can snap onto the full range of 250 ml to 500 ml drink cans—everything from Red Bull and Monster to the standard Pepsi and Coca-Cola formats. The core goals are an airtight seal that protects carbonation, a low-profile clip or hook so users can fasten the lid to a bag or belt loop, and an exterior that follows a sleek modern aesthetic.

Material preference is Food-Grade ABS Plastic; however, if your design thinking shows clear performance gains with silicone gaskets or a thin metal reinforcement ring, I’m open to hearing why and how those could be integrated. Above all, the lid must feel effortless to put on and take off—ease of use outweighs every other single feature.

Please build in a hollow zone or interchangeable module that leaves me the option to introduce a cooling insert later, without forcing a redesign of the main body. Assembly should remain under two parts if possible, with no tools required for the user.

Deliverables
• Fully detailed 3D CAD files (STEP and native SolidWorks or Fusion 360)
• 2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances and call-outs for injection-moulded ABS
• Exploded view rendering to illustrate the clip/hook mechanism and gasket position
• Dimensional envelope showing compatibility with common can diameters (±0.5 mm)
• Short design note highlighting how the form supports quick attachment and airtight retention

I’ll review against: 1) verified fit on 66 mm and 57 mm can openings, 2) leak-free seal in an upside-down shake test, and 3) ergonomic removal in one smooth motion. If you have existing experience designing consumer drinkware or injection-moulded parts, that will help us move faster.
