URGENT! Compact Keypad Phone Casing Design
Budget: $20 – $150 NZD
I need an experienced product/industrial designer who can rapidly turn a rough concept for a small, keypad-based feature phone into a production-ready exterior casing. The internal hardware layout is already fixed (PCB, battery, speaker, camera, antenna locations), so the job is purely about the outer shell, its ergonomics, and how everything is held together.
Scope
• Translate my dimensional sketch and component stack-up into a sleek, manufacturable housing.
• Resolve all fastening points, snaps or screws, as well as port, SIM, and micro-SD cut-outs.
• Optimise wall thicknesses and draft angles for injection moulding while keeping the unit pocket-friendly.
• Provide two or three styling alternatives (e.g. modern, retro, minimalist) so we can choose a direction before final detailing.
Deliverables
1. 3D CAD files in STEP/IGES plus native format (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar).
2. Exploded assembly drawing showing parts and fastening strategy.
3. High-quality renders that communicate finish and colour options for marketing material.
4. A brief DFM note set covering gating suggestions, possible sink/warp risks, and recommended material grades (I’m open to plastic, metal, or an eco-friendly blend—convince me).
Timeline
This is urgent: the first concept pass is needed within one week of project start, with final files locked a week later.
Acceptance
Full payment on receipt of manufacturable files, clean geometry (no surface gaps), and a short call or recorded walkthrough that demonstrates how each component is assembled.
If you thrive on fast turnarounds and have shipped consumer electronics housings before, I’d love to get started immediately.
