Surface Model To Editable Solid
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have a product model that currently exists only as surface geometry; I can supply it to you either as a STEP file or the native, imported SolidWorks file. What I need back is a clean, fully-defined SolidWorks part in which the geometry is rebuilt as true solid bodies—not just knitted surfaces. Every feature should appear in the FeatureManager as standard solid features such as Extrude, Revolve, Fillet, Shell, etc. No surface features or imported-body “dumb solids” should remain.
The finished file may contain anywhere from one to about twenty discrete solid bodies, depending on what makes the most logical sense for editing, but everything must rebuild with zero errors or warnings in SolidWorks. I’ll be using the file primarily for ongoing design edits, so a tidy, well-named feature tree and sensible dimensions are important.
Please work in a recent SolidWorks version (2020 or later). On delivery I’d like:
• The native .SLDPRT file with the full parametric feature history
• A neutral STEP export of the rebuilt solids as a quick sanity check
Acceptance criteria
1. Opening the part shows only solid features—no surface bodies or “Imported” markers.
2. Rebuild completes without errors.
3. Overall shape matches the supplied surface model within typical CAD tolerance.
If you’ve handled similar surface-to-solid conversions before, let me know—speed and accuracy will decide the award.
