Squeeze-Lock Belt Hook Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I already sell a plastic belt hook and can share the original STEP files. The next version must keep the belt-locking feature yet introduce a longer hook that locks around the load itself: squeeze the arm to engage, then give it a small twist to release. Ease of use comes first, but the lock still has to withstand bumps and vibration without letting go.
The part will stay in injection-grade polypropylene, so please design with proper draft, wall thickness in mind. No living hinge is needed due to the innate flexibility. My current model and this product page – https://www.romarkindustries.com/store/p/handline-hooks-with-lock-1800-tlo – show the geometry that must remain unchanged on the belt side. The product must be a one-piece injection molded part.
Deliverables
• New STEP file ready for tooling, showing the extended, squeeze-to-lock hook
• Clear section or exploded view illustrating the lock and short-twist release motion
• Brief strength/interference notes to confirm durability under normal working loads
I may need up to two days to respond to questions, but once answered I’m ready to move quickly. If you’ve created easy-to-use, injection-moulded latching parts before, please share examples so I can see how you tackle similar challenges.
