Souvenir Product Development
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m creating a new line of physical souvenirs and gifts and need an experienced product developer to guide the idea from early concept sketches right through to a production-ready prototype. I already have rough themes in mind; what’s missing is the technical and creative expertise to turn those ideas into tangible items that can be cost-effectively manufactured at scale.
Here’s how I see the collaboration working:
• Discover & Refine: We’ll brainstorm designs together, narrowing them down to concepts that balance visual appeal, durability, and realistic unit costs.
• Design & Engineer: You’ll translate the approved concepts into detailed CAD files, choose appropriate materials, and flag any manufacturing constraints early.
• Prototype & Iterate: I expect at least one physical prototype (3-D print or short-run sample) so we can test size, finish, and overall user feel before locking the design.
Acceptance criteria
• Final 3D CAD files (STEP or STL) plus exploded assembly drawings.
• Material specification sheet and recommended finishing process.
• Photographs or short video showing the working prototype.
• A concise production brief that a factory can quote against.
Experience with small-format manufacturing techniques, rapid prototyping, and sourcing gift-grade materials will be highly valued. Let me know which tools you use day-to-day—SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar—and share an example of a previous gift or souvenir you helped bring to market.
