SolidWorks Van Office Alignment Mobile Office Van Mesh Analysis

Job ID: 40067359

Budget: $30 – $120 AUD

I’m converting a panel van into a fully equipped mobile office and already have two high-resolution 3D scans of the interior—each taken from a different door opening. I now need those scans merged inside SolidWorks, accurately aligned, and supplied with dependable datum planes so every cabinet, desk, and fixture I design later will sit perfectly level and square.

Here’s exactly what I’m after:

• Import both scans into SolidWorks, clean any noise, and align them so all structural points match within millimetre accuracy.
• Establish a clear coordinate system and create reference planes for the floor, roof centreline, left and right walls, bulkhead, and rear threshold.
• Trim excess geometry, keeping only the usable interior shell to reduce file size and speed up future modelling.
• Hand back a single SolidWorks file (part or assembly) that contains the merged scan, all datum planes, and any auxiliary sketches, plus a neutral STEP export.

Acceptance criteria:
– No duplicated or floating surfaces where the scans overlap.
– Each reference plane sits flush on the intended surface and measures zero misalignment when probed.
– File opens in SolidWorks 2021 without rebuild or missing-link errors.

The raw point-clouds are about 1.5 GB each and will be shared via cloud link once we confirm the workflow. Ideally I’d like the finished, plane-ready model delivered within one week. If you have questions about the scan format, tolerances, or anything else, just let me know and we can sort it out quickly.
