SolidWorks Heated Insert CAD Design
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
We require design of tooling inserts to an existing metal-bending machine to accommodate in-situ inductive heating and liquid-cooling. System will use Seimens S7-1200 to control heating (coils) and cooling (pumps/flow). All drawings must be supplied as native SolidWorks files (or 3D CAD) so we can run our own CAM paths and future edits without translation issues.
Scope
The work covers the full parametric CAD definition of each insert, including coil seats, cooling channels and piping attachment features that match the current machine, and any spacers or brackets required to route services safely outside the forming zone (including insulative inserts to prevent thermal transfer to main machine and keep heat within the tooling. We supply the machine’s tooling drawings for non-cooled (standard) tooling as the project starts. We will provide the thermal analysis for designs concepts.
Deliverables
• SolidWorks or 3D CAD part and assembly files, clearly named and fully constrained
• Exploded view with mates to show installation sequence
• Drawing sheets (DWG or SLDDRW) with critical tolerances, material call-outs and notes for CNC or additive manufacturing
• A simple step-by-step assembly PDF so the shop floor can install the system without guess-work
Acceptance criteria
• Models open without errors in SolidWorks 2021 or later or similar 3D CAD format
• All channels must meet the cooling specs required (provided at project start)
• Insert stack aligns with our existing back-gauge within ±0.05 mm in the CAD interference check

I’d like an initial concept layout design within 2-3 weeks from project start. We can discuss full project timing with suitable candidates.
