Snap-Fit Lip Balm Applicator Prototype

PROJECT: Small plastic snap-fit applicator prototype for lip balm tube (U.S.-based only)

I need a simple, clean physical prototype of a small plastic applicator that clips onto a standard lip balm tube (ChapStick-style for reference, ~15–16 mm diameter).
Scope:
• Create basic CAD model (STEP + STL)
• 3D print physical prototypes
• Ship to me (U.S.)
• 1 minor revision if needed after test fit
Design overview:
• Small, slim tool (~44 mm length)
• Designed to clip onto a cylindrical lip balm tube (~15–16 mm diameter)
• Clip is a half-circle (C-shape), not a full ring
• Include a small opening gap so it can snap on and off
• Should hold securely but not be overly tight
Reference note:
• I have renderings for reference only. They show general shape and surface quality, not final design or exact geometry
• I will also provide photos of a simple physical mockup to guide proportions
Retention method:
• Use a pressure snap-fit (slight inward tension)
• Include light internal ribs or contact lines for grip
• Do NOT use aggressive locking beads or hard snap features
• Goal is secure but smooth attach/remove
Body:
• Thin, low-profile (~1.0–1.5 mm wall)
• Slightly curved to follow the tube surface
• Not bulky
Applicator tip:
• Integrated into the top of the body (not a separate piece)
• Smooth, rounded, slightly tapered
• Subtle raised contour (~0.5–0.75 mm), fully blended into surface
• Narrow enough to enter a small opening and reach below an internal platform and around the screw mechanism
Prototypes:
• Provide 2–3 physical samples
• Slight variations in tip height/shape for comparison and snap fit tensions
Finish:
• Clean and smooth (no rough or stringy print)
• Prefer resin (SLA) or similar smooth finish
• Matte neutral color (gray preferably)
Requirements:
• Must be located in the United States
• Must be available for a short phone call to review details
• Must have a mechanical engineering, product design, or industrial design background
• Experience with small plastic parts and snap-fit features required
