Sheet-Metal and Tube Frame Welding Fixture Design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need a practical yet accurate fixture that holds a mostly sheet-metal frame square and true while it is being welded. The structure also incorporates a few tubes and standard hardware, so the jig must secure mixed-section parts and guarantee that the finished weldment drops straight into the adjacent machine assembly with no re-work.
All critical sizes of the final frame are already known; your task is to create the fixture concept, produce full 3D CAD and 2D drawings, and write a brief operator guide so any welding technician can load parts and clamp them in minutes. Tight tolerances should be achieved through sensible datums, locator pins and repeatable stops rather than complicated mechanisms—the goal is simplicity, speed and consistency.
Because the primary material is tube and sheet metal, allow for possible heat distortion and give the welder clear torch access from multiple angles. Quick part removal after cooling is equally important.
Please include examples of past fixture or welding-jig work with your proposal; seeing real projects will help me judge your approach and build quality.
Deliverables on completion:
• 3D CAD model of the complete fixture (native + STEP)
• Fabrication drawings and concise bill of materials
• Shop-floor setup and loading instructions
Any mainstream CAD platform is fine as long as files are easily shared. I’m happy to answer further questions and agree on sensible milestones before we get started.
