STP File Size Reduction
Budget: $10 – $30 CAD
I have a STEP model whose file size has ballooned, largely because it contains many separate components. Before I run my analyses in ANSYS, I need the file trimmed down without losing the geometry that matters for simulation.
Here is what I’m after:
• Streamline or merge redundant bodies and remove any hidden or cosmetic parts that do not influence the physics I’ll be studying.
• Preserve all contact faces, boundary-condition features, and key dimensions so the model imports cleanly into ANSYS and meshes without errors.
• Return a lean STEP file and a short summary of what was removed or suppressed, so I can trace any change back if needed.
If you regularly prep CAD for simulation and know the typical pain points—tiny sliver faces, overlapping surfaces, unnecessary detail—this should be straightforward. Thanks in advance for helping me get this model under control.
