STEP Assembly to Detailed BOM
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
The task is to take my complete product assembly, provided as a single .STEP file, and translate it into a manufacturing-ready Bill of Materials. Every distinct component in the model must be captured—no simplifying or grouping—so the document reads as a part-by-part recipe for production.
What the final BOM must contain
• A line entry for each unique component in the STEP assembly.
• Columns for part name/description, quantity, and the material specification I specify or that you identify from the model.
• Any fasteners, purchased hardware, or off-the-shelf items that appear in the file.
Output format
A clean, well-structured PDF document is required. The layout should be clear enough for shop-floor use and suitable for internal purchasing review.
Preferred workflow
1. Import the .STEP file in the CAD system of your choice (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, etc.).
2. Explode or inspect the assembly to ensure all nested parts are accounted for.
3. Compile the data, double-checking counts and materials.
4. Export to PDF and send back for a single round of confirmation.
Acceptance criteria
• Every component visible in the original assembly is listed once with an accurate quantity.
• Material column is filled for all rows.
• PDF opens without formatting issues and prints to A4 or Letter cleanly.
The STEP file will be shared immediately after the project is awarded so you can begin extraction and documentation right away.
