Residential Point-Cloud to STP
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I already have a fully oriented and scaled data set—dense photogrammetry meshes and complementary laser-scan point clouds of a single-family home. Your job is to turn that information into a high-detail solid model delivered as a single multi body STP file. Bodies will be broken up by item type - brick should be one body, doors a separate body, door frames yet another separate body, window sashes are one body, window frames are another body, etc.
Scope
The finished model must faithfully represent all visible architectural features. I am looking for crisp, watertight geometry that can slot straight into downstream CAD workflows without further clean-up for architectural renderings.
Key inclusions
• Windows and their surrounds
• Exterior doors
• Primary structural elements (walls, roof planes, beams, columns, trim, porch ceiling)
• Exterior trim and other decorative details wherever the scans make them discernible
Preferred workflow
I am flexible on the software you choose—Geomagic Design X, SolidWorks, Rhino with Mesh2Surface, or similar—as long as the output meets the criteria below.
Acceptance criteria
• Global dimensions match the supplied scan within ±25 mm
• Every part is a true solid (no open edges or self-intersections)
• Organised feature tree or logical layer/part naming preferred.
• Delivered as one native STP file plus a viewer-ready render or screenshot set for quick visual verification
All source data, reference photos, and any necessary orientation notes will be provided immediately upon award; the mesh is already cleaned and scaled, so you can go straight into surface fitting and solid creation. Let me know your estimated turnaround and any questions about the data set.
Solidworks would be ideal, but I will accept any deliverable in STP/IGS. I think most programs can export to STP/IGS neutral formats.
