Precise LineWork Barber Comb Recreation

Job ID: 40189282

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a set of clear reference photos of a specialty barber-shop comb that features a sliding guide rail for ultra-accurate line-ups. The original comb is no longer in my possession, so the new design must be reverse-engineered entirely from those images.

Scope
• Model the comb in plastic, matching the original length, width, and tooth spacing exactly.
• Integrate the single sliding rail channel (a narrow dent that runs along the spine) so the guide piece can travel smoothly the full length. High precision is essential here; tolerances need to be tight enough that the guide won’t wobble but still moves freely.

Deliverables
1. Parametric 3D CAD file (STEP or SolidWorks native).
2. Manufacture-ready STL.
3. A short drawing or call-out sheet highlighting key dimensions and rail tolerances.

Acceptance
The rail must keep lateral play under 0.2 mm along the entire stroke, and overall comb dimensions should stay within ±0.1 mm of the photo-based reference measurements I’ll supply.

All photos and a quick sketch of the guide piece will be provided as soon as the project starts.
