Plastic Under-Seat PCB Enclosure
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
A small PCB powers a new bicycle accessory I am developing, and it now needs a purpose-built enclosure. The box must be molded in plastic, protect the electronics from trail dust (IP-style dustproofing, no need for full waterproofing), and bolt securely beneath the saddle. I settled on the under-seat position because it keeps weight low and out of the way; if your design experience suggests a smarter bracket or angle I am open to improvements, but the final fixation point must remain in that area rather than the handlebar or frame.
Here is what I will provide once we start: the PCB outline with keep-out zones, connector locations, and a preferred cable exit path. Your task is to translate that into a clean, manufacturable 3D model, complete with any gasket or snap-fit details needed to keep dust out during bumpy rides. I expect native CAD files (SolidWorks or Fusion 360 work best for me) plus STEP for tooling and an STL suitable for quick 3D-print validation.
To sign off the job, I will test-print your file, place the board, and confirm:
• The PCB seats without stress and all connectors clear the walls
• The lid closes securely and stays closed after a few open/close cycles
• No visible dust ingress after a short gravel ride simulation
If you can also advise on injection-mold readiness—draft angles, parting lines, material thickness—that will be a big plus.
