Plastic Relic Recast in Metal
Budget: $10 – $350 USD
I have a small religious keepsake that is currently moulded in plastic. I can ship the original piece to you so you can take exact measurements and replicate every moderate detail. The finished result should look close to silver, yet stay within an affordable price range—so aluminum or polished steel makes the most sense, though I’m open to your guidance.
The item has to be both decorative and fully usable in the same way the plastic version is now, so durability and a clean surface finish matter. I see two possible outcomes and I’m happy with either:
• A production-ready CAD model (STEP or STL preferred) that I can forward to a local metalworker.
• Or, if you have casting / CNC capabilities, the complete metal piece itself, ready for immediate use.
Please let me know which route you can handle, what process you’d apply, the lead time you expect, and a clear price breakdown for the work. Any examples of similar metal replicas or CAD conversions you’ve done would be helpful.
