Perfect Our Wine Dispenser
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I am looking for a creative and experienced Mechanical Engineer to help take a wine machine project from its current working prototype stage to a highly functioning, efficient, and consumer-ready "Version 2.0."
The core concept is proven, but the current machine needs significant refinement. I need a partner who can look at the existing mechanism, identify weaknesses, and ideate clever engineering solutions to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Location: United Kingdom Only (Strict requirement).
The Challenge: You will not just be drawing models; you will be solving problems. The goal is to optimise the internal mechanics for fluid handling, precision, and efficiency while reducing complexity where possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit the Prototype: Review the current physical prototype and existing files to identify mechanical flaws, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
Ideation & Problem Solving: Propose specific engineering solutions to improve liquid flow, mechanical movement, and overall user experience.
- 3D CAD Modeling: Create detailed, professional 3D models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) of the new iteration.
- Design for Manufacture (DFM): Ensure parts are designed in a way that is realistic for eventual manufacturing (injection molding, CNC, 3d printing etc.).
- Prototyping: If possible, produce test parts (3D print/machine) to validate your designs before finalisation (I have this capability also so not a major ask)
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering.
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software.
- Based in the UK.
- Strong portfolio showing the evolution of a product from concept to working model.
Ideally, you have:
- Food & Beverage Machinery Experience: Knowledge of food-grade materials, sanitary design, pumps, seals, and liquid handling logic is a huge plus.
- Home Workshop/Prototyping Capabilities: Ability to 3D print or mock up mechanisms at home to test your ideas quickly.
