Parametric Plastic Latch Box Design

Job ID: 39883669

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need a detailed, fully-parametric 3D CAD model of a heavy-duty latch box for storage. The box must include an internal grid system whose cell size and count I can adjust later by simply changing parameters.

Key points
• Material intent: plastic suited for consumer-grade FDM printing—PETG or PLA preferred for the prototype.
• Robust latch and hinge: the lid should lock securely yet open smoothly; tolerance settings must account for typical desktop printer accuracy.
• Print-friendly geometry: aim for minimal supports, oriented for strength, and parts that fit on a 220 × 220 mm bed.
• Modifiable dimensions: overall length, width, height, wall thickness, and grid layout should be exposed as editable variables in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar parametric software.
• Stackability: a shallow recess or lip so multiple boxes nest safely.

Deliverables
1. Original parametric CAD file (.f3d, .sldprt, or equivalent) with clearly named parameters.
2. Exported STEP file and ready-to-print STL set.
3. Assembly instructions and recommended print settings (layer height, infill, filament type, etc.).
4. One round of minor tweaks after I test-print the first prototype.

If you’ve designed printable storage systems or latch mechanisms before, please include a few screenshots or links to previous work in your bid. I’m ready to start right away and will provide prompt feedback to keep the iteration cycle quick.
