P&ID & Panel CAD Drawings
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
Freelance P&ID / Instrumentation CAD Designer Required (Ongoing Ad-Hoc Support)
I am looking to build a relationship with an experienced freelance designer/drafter who can provide support on an as-needed basis when project workloads increase. This is not a full-time position, but an opportunity for ongoing freelance work across multiple projects as they arise.
My work is primarily focused on flow control, process systems, and instrumentation, so I am particularly interested in finding someone with a strong understanding of:
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Instrumentation and control systems
AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software
2D drafting and, ideally, 3D modelling
Process engineering or industrial automation environments
Typical Scope of Work
The majority of work will involve creating, updating, and revising P&IDs, including:
Accurate, industry-standard P&ID drawings
Instrumentation layouts and installation drawings
Valve, piping, and instrument details
General CAD drafting support related to instrumentation projects
Occasional 3D modelling work (desirable but not essential)
What I'm Looking For:
Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy
Experience working with instrumentation and control systems
Good understanding of engineering documentation and processes
Ability to work independently from sketches, mark-ups, or verbal discussions
Fast turnaround when urgent project requirements arise
Clear communication and reliability
Responsiveness and availability are important.
Please Include
A brief summary of your relevant experience
Examples of P&ID, instrumentation, or process-related drawings you have produced
The CAD platforms/software you use
Your typical availability and turnaround times
Hourly or day rates
I am looking for a long-term contact who can become a trusted extension of my engineering team and support projects as workloads fluctuate.
