3D PETG OBD2 Case Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a compact custom housing modelled for an OBD2 car-diagnostic tool. The enclosure has to print cleanly in PETG and, most importantly, keep every connector fully reachable once the board is installed. I will share board dimensions, mounting-hole positions and photos of the current prototype as soon as we start. On one end shall be the ODB2 J1962 Connector and on the other end will offer a connection to the USB-C Port of the internal device. The Internal device need to be secured offering correct spacing for the USB-C connection on the one end.
Here’s what matters to me:
• Geometry optimised for PETG wall thicknesses and tolerances
• Simple snap-fit or screw-close mechanism that lets me open it without damaging the clips
• Clear, unobstructed port openings so the cable can be plugged and unplugged repeatedly without strain on the board
Deliverables
1. Parametric CAD source file (STEP or Fusion 360)
2. Print-ready STL sliced for a 0.4 mm nozzle
3. A short assembly note or exploded view to show board placement
I’ll test-fit the first print locally; if everything aligns and the ports seat correctly, the job is complete.
