PCB Overmold 3D CAD Mold

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’ve got a set of 2-D Gerber files for a small printed circuit board that now needs a proper overmolding solution. Your task is to turn those Gerbers into a clean STEP model, build a 3 D mold around the board, and get everything ready for machining.

Here is the flow I have in mind:

• Import the .grb layers, recreate the PCB as a solid, and export the base board in STEP.
• Extrude a uniform silicone shell—anywhere from 2 mm to 5 mm thick—following the board’s outline.
• Design a two-piece metal mold that closes accurately on standard alignment pins.
• Add a single top-entry gate sized for typical low-pressure silicone injection.
• Make sure both halves part cleanly with proper draft, ejector clearances, and shut-off surfaces.

Deliverables I need back:

1. Native CAD files (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) plus neutral STEP of the complete assembly.
2. Separate STEP files for each mold half, the finished overmolded PCB, and the loose board.
3. A quick drawing or PDF that calls out key dimensions, pin locations, and gate size so the machine shop can quote immediately.

If any geometry comes through fuzzy from the Gerbers, just flag it and I’ll supply extra data. I’m looking for a tidy, manufacture-ready model rather than just a visual mock-up, so standard DFM practices for metal tooling apply.
