Outdoor Modular IP65 Pedestal Design
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
The task is to create a complete design package for an outdoor electrical distribution pedestal that will be installed in an urban streetscape / Landscape. The unit must be modular for easy expansion, fully IP65-rated against dust and water ingress, and visually refined enough to sit comfortably alongside modern street furniture.
Key design targets
• Enclosure material: mild-steel or aluminium, whichever best balances corrosion resistance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Appearance: clean lines and a premium finish so the pedestal complements high-end commercial façades rather than looking purely industrial.
• Functionality: straightforward internal layout for cable entry, terminations, and future module add-ons; service access from the front without dismantling the entire shell.
• Standards: ingress protection verified to IP65 and accommodation for typical urban electrical codes (IEC or UL discussion welcomed).
Deliverables expected
1. 3D CAD model (STEP or SolidWorks native).
2. Manufacturing drawings with material specs, tolerances, and surface treatments.
3. Basic thermal and ingress protection rationale showing seal placement, gasket selection, and ventilation strategy.
4. Exploded view or assembly guide highlighting the modular sub-panels.
Your experience designing outdoor enclosures or street-level utilities will be the primary selection point, so please highlight comparable projects and the software packages you intend to use (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, etc.).
Once the concept is approved, I’ll handle prototype fabrication locally; quick access for design tweaks and clarifications will be appreciated during that stage.
