Outdoor LCD Enclosure CAD
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
We are developing our proprietary outdoor digital LCD casing used for outdoor advertising. We require a sleek, modern, premium aluminium enclosure design that is significantly thinner, more refined, and more aesthetically polished than traditional kiosk casings.
The enclosure must house:
• A high-brightness 55" outdoor LCD (screen dimensions will be provided)
• Internal cooling system (fans or alternative airflow solution)
• Power supply modules
• Controller board
• LED recessed perimeter lighting (groove around all outer edges)
• Integrated lockbox compartment
• Waterproofing + gasket channels (IP65/66)
• Hinged front door for service access
• Branding cut-outs or recessed sections for our logo + slogan
Your responsibilities:
• Design the full aluminium outer shell with smooth radius corners, Apple/Tesla-style minimalism.
• Internal structural framework suitable for screen, electronics, wiring, airflow, and lockbox mounting.
• Waterproofing + ventilation engineering.
• Front door hinge/latch system (preferably internal or low-visibility).
• Recessed LED groove design around the board perimeter.
• Base mounting interface for outdoor installation.
• Deliver all manufacturing-ready CAD files.
What we will provide:
• Photos, videos & dimensions of current Version 1 board
• Internal component dimensions (screen, power supplies, motherboard, lockbox)
• Reference images of the desired aesthetic
• LED groove shape specs
• Brand placement requirements
The end result must be:
• Premium appearance
• Simple internal structure
• Durable for outdoor weather
• Easy to manufacture in aluminium
• Thinner and more elegant than our Version 1 casing
This design will be used nationwide so quality, accuracy, and manufacturability are critical.
Evaluation Criteria:
• We will select the winning designer based on:
• Aesthetic quality: modern, sleek, premium industrial design.
• Manufacturability: enclosure must be practical for CNC sheet metal fabrication in aluminium.
• Waterproofing engineering (IP65/66).
• Internal layout clarity & cooling strategy.
• Accurate dimensions & proper mounting points.
• Realistic hinge system that fits within LED groove constraints.
• Completeness of deliverables, STEP files, exploded view, technical drawings, assembly documentation.
What I Don’t Want:
• Generic kiosk designs
• Overly bulky enclosures
• Designs that cannot be manufactured
• Poor understanding of waterproofing
• Missing mounting points or internal structure
• Plastic-based designs (we require aluminium)
Please provide at least one sample of previous work that demonstrates:
• Aluminium or sheet-metal enclosure design
• Outdoor kiosk or industrial equipment housing
• Mechanical engineering capability
• Ability to design hinge systems, ventilation, or LED recess features
A portfolio link is also acceptable.
