Organic Body Pillow CAD
Budget: $300 – $400 USD
I'm building a premium engineered body pillow for side sleepers. This is not a standard CAD job.
I'm not looking for someone to reproduce dimensions. I'm looking for someone who can translate human interaction into manufacturable form.
The product has one design rule: it shall never ask the user a question. No which end is the head end. No which side faces the body. No which way is up. Every orientation produces the same experience. The finished model must feel inevitable — as if the shape could not have been any other way.
This project is NOT for you if your portfolio is primarily:
Mechanical brackets, enclosures, or CNC parts
Injection molded plastic components
Sheet metal or structural modeling
This project IS for you if your portfolio shows:
Furniture, seating, or bedding products
Consumer products with organic, ergonomic surface transitions
Soft goods or foam products prepared for manufacturing
Medical or wearable products with continuous surface work
The project has two milestones:
Milestone 1 — Exterior surface model only. No foam. No dimensions. No labels. Just the exterior form submitted for approval before any production work begins.
Milestone 2 — Full production CAD. STEP, IGES, native file, orthographic and cross-section drawings, surface continuity verification, manufacturing notes for supplier.
A surface reference render is included for design intent only — do not reproduce the shape, understand why it exists.
Required:
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, Alias, Fusion 360, or equivalent
Experience with freeform and organic surface modeling
Watertight solid body output
G2/G3 surface continuity preferred
Fluent English
Preferred:
Experience with foam, bedding, furniture, or ergonomic consumer products
Knowledge of single-pour foam injection mold constraints
Experience working with overseas manufacturers
NDA and IP agreement required before full design brief is shared.
