Motorcycle Helmet Design Development

Job ID: 40167201

Budget: €8 – €30 EUR

I already have a hand-sketched concept for a motorcycle helmet and now need it transformed into a fully realised, production-ready design. The brief covers every layer of development—styling, structural integrity, and the functional details that make a premium riding helmet comfortable and safe.

Aesthetic refinement comes first: I want the sketch evolved into a sleek, modern shape that still respects the original lines. From there we move directly into structural design. The outer shell must be engineered for carbon fiber, so wall thickness, lay-up schedule, draft angles for the mold and overall manufacturability all need to be resolved. Inside, the EPS liner, comfort padding and fastening system must interface perfectly with the shell, matching common headform sizes and leaving space for integrated vents and comms hardware.

Functional features are equally important. I need a reliable visor mechanism, efficient ventilation channels, and provisions for anti-fog inserts—all tailored for everyday motorcycle use while aiming for DOT / ECE compliance.

Deliverables
• High-fidelity 3D CAD (STEP or IGES), with separate bodies for shell, liner, visor, vents and hardware
• Photorealistic renderings to validate styling and finishes
• 2D manufacturing drawings or annotated sections that specify carbon fiber lay-up and key dimensions
• A concise design report outlining material choices, safety standards considered and suggested next steps for prototyping

I’ll supply the original sketch, basic headform data and reference photos once we start. I’m happy to iterate together, so please allow for two rounds of feedback at each major stage: concept refinement, detailed design, and final DFM hand-off.
