Metal Prototype with Functional Parts
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a new product concept that now needs a tangible, working proof-of-concept. The job is to build a physical prototype entirely in metal, not plastic or wood, and it must go beyond a display model—the moving parts have to operate as intended so I can validate fit, motion, and durability.
Here’s what I will hand over: my dimensioned drawings and 3D files. You’ll turn those into a full metal build, machining or fabricating the components, assembling them, and verifying that every mechanism functions smoothly. Surface finish can stay utilitarian; performance matters more than showroom polish at this stage.
Deliverables
• One fully assembled metal prototype with functional parts and mechanisms
• Any updated CAD or fabrication drawings reflecting as-built changes
• A brief build report noting materials, processes, and tolerances used
I’ll cover shipping both ways and will be available for quick feedback during the build so iterations stay minimal. If you have the tools, workshop access, and experience to bring a working metal model to life, let’s make it happen.
