Metal Guitar Case Handle Design

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

I’m finishing a custom guitar case and need a purpose-built handle that can survive the rigours of touring while feeling great in the hand. The brief is straightforward:

• Core material: metal for maximum strength and longevity.
• Grip: must be rubber-coated or knurled so it stays comfortable and non-slip even when hands are sweaty.
• Attachment: the handle will be screwed to the Carbon Fiber composite case walls; the design therefore has to include proper load-spreading plates or inserts, accurate hole alignment and hardware selection.

What I need from you:
1. Concept sketches that explore shape, ergonomics and aesthetics in line with classic guitar-case styling.
2. Full 3D CAD (STEP/SolidWorks preferred) with stress considerations for a 25 kg load.
3. Manufacturing drawings and a complete BOM including finish specs, fasteners and rubber sheath details.
4. A functional prototype (1–2 units) shipped to me for fit-up and real-world shake-test.
5. If the prototype passes, guidance or small-batch production capability would be a plus.

You’re free to suggest cost-effective alloys, rubber over-moulding methods, or surface treatments that keep the handle looking sharp after years on the road. Tight communication is important; quick design iterations via screen-share or annotated PDFs will keep the project moving.

Deliver the files in native CAD plus exported STEP/DWG, and package all drawings and notes cleanly so any manufacturer can quote without extra clarification.
