Medium Fishing Motorboat Plans

Job ID: 39808054

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m ready to start constructing a 16-25 ft motorboat purpose-built for fishing and need a complete, builder-friendly plan set to guide the project from the first cut of plywood through to launch day.

What I expect to receive
• Naval-architecture drawings (hull lines, structural framing, deck layout, engine placement) in PDF and editable CAD formats.
• A detailed bill of materials with timber grades, fiberglass schedule, resin volumes, fasteners, hardware, and recommended outboard specs.
• Step-by-step construction notes that match the drawings, highlighting critical tolerances, alignment checks, and lamination schedules.
• Weight and balance calculations so I can verify performance once the boat is rigged for fishing gear, fuel, and two to three anglers.
• Optional but welcome: a basic 3D model I can rotate in free viewers such as SketchUp or Fusion 360 to visualise tricky joints.

Building environment & resources
I have a well-equipped home workshop, moderate woodworking experience, and access to CNC cutting if nesting files are supplied. All guidance must assume standard amateur tools are available—nothing industrial.

Acceptance criteria
The drawings must be complete enough for a first-time boatbuilder to follow without guesswork, meet common small-craft safety practices (ABYC or equivalent), and show an estimated build weight within the typical range for similar 18-22 ft fishing craft. Once delivered, I’ll review the package; any missing dimensions or clarifications should be resolved promptly.
