Mechanical Design & STP Files for folding chair
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am seeking a mechanical engineer to develop production-ready 3D models for a high-end, tech-integrated director-style folding chair. I have clear concept sketches, photographs of a standard form-factor reference (DY3008), and a list of proprietary upgrades.
Note on Intellectual Property: This is a ground-up redesign of several key components. The successful bidder will be required to sign an NDA before proprietary sketches are shared.
The Task:
Proprietary Side Tray (Primary Focus): Create a 3D model for a custom HDPE tray (15.5" \times 9.5"). Unlike standard models, this must include a 96mm Stanley Cup port with a handle notch, a standard 72mm port, and a sloped 6-inch media dock for live broadcast viewing (Game Changer app).
Upgraded Frame: Design an aluminum alloy frame (22\text{mm} OD) based on a standard director-chair footprint but modified for internal wire routing. You must define the entry/exit points for an 18V-to-12V power bus.
180-Degree Canopy: Design a "Slide-and-Pivot" mechanism that allows the canopy to flip 180 degrees to the rear and hang flat against the backrest without interference.
Deliverables:
Production-ready STP/STEP files for all components.
2D Technical drawings with precise dimensions for factory quote.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations for injection molding and aluminum welding.
Requirements:
Proven experience in consumer product design and mechanical engineering.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar.
Ability to take 2D sketches/references and build 3D geometry from scratch.
Please provide your timeline and relevant portfolio examples.
