Manufacturing-Ready Firearm Parts CAD
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I’m preparing a full-scale production run of a custom over under, firearm and now require complete 3D modelling and drafting of three core components—the barrel, trigger mechanism, and stock. The work must be built natively in SolidWorks so I can integrate it with the rest of my assembly files, run tolerance studies, and generate tool-paths directly from your models.
Every model you create has to be ready for the shop floor. That means fully defined geometry, proper material call-outs, accurate GD&T, and exploded assemblies that leave no guesswork for the machinist or the CNC programmer. Drawings should include revision blocks, surface finish notes, and critical dimensions called out in both imperial and metric where appropriate.
Because the finished product will enter the civilian market, the design must meet all applicable U.S. civilian standards for safety and durability (SAAMI specs, ASTM material grades, etc.). Build those requirements into the models and highlight any areas where tolerances or heat-treat specs become especially important.
Deliverables
• Native SolidWorks part files (.sldprt) and assembly (.sldasm)
• Fully detailed 2D drawings in .slddrw and PDF formats
• A concise BOM with material specs, finishes, and vendor suggestions
• STEP files for CAM import
• Brief design report summarizing key standards referenced and any assumptions made
