Magnetic Compact Mirror Design & Production
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 AUD
The goal is to bring a new round plastic compact mirror to market that discreetly stores hair pins thanks to a built-in magnet. I need the full journey covered - from concept drawings through to a low MOQ manufacturing run - so the deliverables should include detailed CAD files, a working prototype, tool-ready production files, and production oversight until the first batch ships.
Key specs to follow
• Shape: round
• Casing material: durable, cosmetic-grade plastic
• Mirror: single regular glass mirror set flush in the lid
• Magnet: integrated behind the opposite side of the compact, strong enough to hold several standard bobby pins.
I’m happy to discuss hinge styles, clasp mechanisms, surface finishes, packaging, and any tweaks that streamline injection moulding or reduce unit costs while keeping the magnet’s holding power intact. Please outline which CAD/3D tools you’ll use, your prototype method (SLA, CNC, etc.), and lead times for each stage.
