Magnetic Child-Restraint Buckle CAD
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need an experienced mechanical / industrial designer to turn my concept for a magnetic child-restraint buckle into injection-mould-ready CAD files. The buckle must:
• Be fully compatible with plastic components only.
• Comply with the relevant ISO safety standards for child-restraint hardware.
• Offer the following core functions:
– Child-proof locking system
– Single-handed operation
Scope of work
1. Translate my sketches and requirements into a refined 3D model (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a comparable parametric CAD tool).
2. Prepare detailed part and assembly drawings with tolerances, draft angles, and gate locations suitable for plastic injection moulding.
3. Supply STEP/IGES files plus native CAD files for future edits.
4. Provide a short design report outlining material recommendations, magnet specifications, and how the design satisfies ISO criteria.
I’m looking for someone who has previously designed safety-critical plastic mechanisms, understands DFM for injection moulding, and can iterate quickly based on feedback.
