Ironman Bike Aero Accessories
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I will hand you my baseline 3D scan of the tri-bike (STL, fairly rough but usable) and I’d like you to create several aerodynamically improved variants. The goal is simple: bring my current CdA of ±0.25 down below 0.20 while remaining fully legal for Ironman competition.
Scope of the work
• Optimise three key zones: the BTA (between-the-arms) setup, cockpit add-ons, and the area behind the seat post.
• For the BTA I specifically want a bottle holder and matching aerodynamic fairings; any extra electronics mounts are optional.
• Behind the seat post I do want storage/ hydration solutions or any other aero helpers you consider beneficial.
• You may run your own CFD to guide the shapes; I will cross-check the variants myself in Airshaper before sign-off.
What I will supply
• The default bike scan (STL)
• Notes on my current fit, rider position and any dimensional constraints
• A quick reference to Ironman technical regulations so everything stays race-legal
Deliverables
1. At least three clearly distinct 3D concepts for each of the three zones (native CAD + STL ready for printing) that achieve a CdA reduction below 0.20 without increasing frontal area.
2. A short design note for every concept explaining the intended drag mechanism and projected CdA gain
3. (Optional yet welcome) summary screenshots or reports of your CFD runs
Acceptance criteria
• Components must mount cleanly to the existing frame or extensions without permanent modification
• No concept may add net frontal area; each should target a CdA reduction >0.01 versus baseline
• File formats: STL for print, STEP or similar for editability
I can model myself, but your expertise and time will accelerate the process. You are free to suggest extra tweaks or unconventional ideas as long as you can justify the aerodynamics. I’ll review, iterate quickly, and move to printing as soon as a design shows measurable gain.
The designs must be strategics and not the final drawings. I'm searching for where I can optimise.
I need it within 3 days.
